Current Exam Dates:
PL6 Learning Hub's dedicated Functional Skills classroom is now fully operational.
The room has been set up to deliver Open Awards Functional Skills English and Mathematics (Levels 1 and 2) in small groups, with teaching, revision, and exam preparation taking place in the same environment learners will sit their assessments.
Following the Easter holidays, PL6 Learning Hub will begin hosting Functional Skills examinations on site.
Exams will initially be scheduled on Mondays and Tuesdays, with sessions available for both Level 1 and Level 2 English and Maths.
We are now inviting parents, schools, and home education families to register their interest in upcoming Functional Skills exam sessions.
Identification Requirement
All learners sitting an exam at PL6 Learning Hub must bring valid photographic identification on the day of the exam.
Acceptable forms of ID include:

Learners will be asked to present their ID during registration before entering the exam room. Failure to provide valid identification may result in the learner not being permitted to sit the exam.
FAQ:
1. What qualifications can be taken at PL6 Learning Hub?
We offer Functional Skills English and Maths at Level 1 and Level 2, accredited by Open Awards.
2. How soon can a learner sit an exam after booking?
We require a minimum of two weeks' notice between booking and sitting an exam. Most learners sit their exam within 2–4 weeks of booking, depending on availability and the next scheduled exam session which is held once a month.
3. Do you offer access arrangements?
Yes. Learners who normally receive access arrangements such as 25% extra time, a reader, or rest breaks can request these during the booking process. Evidence is required.
4. Do learners need identification on exam day?
Yes. All learners must bring valid photographic identification on the day of the exam. Acceptable ID includes a passport, driving licence, or school ID card.
